Black and White Photography Studio (All Ages; 50 mm Black and White Camera Required)
 
The Northwest School's photography classes are always among the most enrolled. Our photography students annually hang shows and win national and regional photography contests. Use our state-of-the-art photography studio, complete with dark room and cutting-edge technology. You must provide your own 50 mm black and white camera and then you can join our professional photographer as your generate your personal, professional-looking, black and white photography. $75 Additional Fee

Ceramic Studio: Myths and Magic (All Ages)
 
Create, sculpt and mold your own ceramic world! Use classical mythology, any story from around the world, or your own imagination to mastermind ceramic treasures with confidence and ease. Maybe you conjure ceramic creatures; maybe you construct ceramic landscapes and castles. Be as simple or as complex as you want; but whatever you do, be amazing with clay, glaze and the kiln! $25 Materials Fee

Comic Art Studio (All Ages)
 
Comics have evolved from the classic comic strip into full graphic novels that win the Pulitzer Prize! Combine literary techniques such as humor, adventure and fantasy with the skills of penciling, inking, lettering and story writing, to draw your own masterful comic. The story belongs to you. Tell it, and draw it, like it is!

Digital Design Studio (All Ages)
 
A class for the technologically adventurous! You don't have to be a technology wizard to design and generate original digital art. Use your personal images or those found in the public domain. You are the artist and the expert. There is only one limit: your imagination.

Digital Music Studio (All Ages)
 
Transform a simple idea into a wonderful musical creation: you are the composer, conductor and musician. Research and categorize sound files. Edit sound samples and use sequencing software to assemble your composition. Music is a universal language and the Universe is your inspiration. Every year this is one of the Camp's most popular classes. (Please provide your own headphones.)

Digital Photography Studio (All Ages; Digital Camera Required)
 
Make sure you have your own digital camera for this class. Once you do, take digital images with confidence. Learn how to adjust camera settings and create special effects. Print and transmit images in our state-of-the-art computer lab. Produce images that will express what you want to say about your world--even digital photographic documentaries. We're waiting to see what you create… $25 Materials Fee

DIY Fashion and Jewelry (All Ages)
 
Convert new, reused and recycled materials into one-of-a-kind art! Make products (like wallets and card holders) from plastic bags. Design original necklaces, bracelets, gifts and other jewelry from any material you can imagine. In fact, your only limitation is your imagination in this stylish class where guys and girls alike will rock the fashion world!

Drawing and Painting with Mixed Media (All Ages)
 
Who says you can't paint and draw in the same class? Come get your hands wet and dry at the same time! Use paint, pastels, ink, pencil and more. Create your own watercolor glazes. Practice layering and other art resist techniques that you combine with your drawing. Your subjects can be anything… as long as the teacher approves, so mix it up!

Tap out beats and rhythms of different cultures on traditional instruments like drums, and unconventional instruments like brooms, pots and garbage cans…even the human body! Play solo or in groups and show off for the Camp. and a 1 and a 2…! Experience and natural rhythm not required.

Snackalicious (All Ages)
 
Sometimes the best foods aren't cooked. They can come in unusual, simple, and downright delicious shapes and sizes. Learn to create tasty snacks and finger foods…without cooking! They are easy to eat and taste great. You'll find yourself an expert snack chef. Don't be surprised if suddenly you have many new friends once they learn you are in this class. Super Hero Charm School (All Ages)New!
 
Calling all super heroes! Fight litter, instead of villains! Don't smash through walls; clean them instead! Earn community service hours as you assist the Camp in environmental awareness and social justice. This class is specially designed to perform community service at The Northwest School and for its neighborhood. Study various styles of leadership and famous leaders throughout history. Gain insight into your own styles of service, leadership and communication. This fun-filled class is group taught by members of the Camp faculty, so be prepared to give presentations at Midday. Earning community service hours is super fun!

Vampire Studio (All Ages)New!
 
Vampires have held the world in thrall for centuries. Did you know that Dracula by Bram Stoker has never been out of print? Today, there is a gleeful explosion of books and films, all focused on the many shapes and sizes of this bloodthirsty…villain?...hero? This class is creepy fun! Learn about vampires from around the world and throughout history; convert our theater into your version of a vampire's lair; create and inhabit your own undead world of vampires, complete with costumes, make-up, and personalities…if you dare. Garlic not allowed. $25 Materials Fee
