Campbassador Internship

Ambassador n. an accredited diplomat sent by a country as its official representative to a foreign country…a person who acts as a representative or promoter of a specified activity. Camp + Ambassador = Campbassador Campbassadors are official student leaders of The Northwest School Summer Camp, a global community, made up of students and faculty from around the world. Campbassadors willingly serve and reach out to all Campers and faculty. Campbassadors support the Mission Statement by:

• Serving as student assistants in ESL Adventures and other classes as needed.
• Serving as standing members of the Super Hero Charm School.
• Leading the Camp in environmental awareness, social justice and global community-building activities.
• Leading the Camp in Midday Celebration, including songs, skits and presentations.
• Designing, staffing and running the Camp Store.
• Actively building relationships with all campers and faculty.
• Evaluating and meeting the needs of the Camp.
• Working with anyone in the Summer Camp community.
• Performing other reasonable tasks as instructed.

Qualifications:

1. Campbassadors are currently juniors or seniors in high school, or at least 16 years old.
2. Campbassadors are fluent and literate in English and have demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills.
3. Campbassadors have successfully studied at least two years, or the equivalent, of a language other than English.
4. Campbassadors agree to serve as Camp role models.
5. Campbassadors are available for a full time internship from June 28, 2010 through August 18, 2010.
6. Campbassadors are available for an in-person interview as part of the application process.
7. Campbassadors are comfortable having authority and being in public leadership.
8. Campbassadors want to lead through service.
9. Campbassadors have at least a 2.0 overall GPA.
10. Campbassadors have a special talent or skill they are willing to share with the Camp community.
